2022 art summary :D

I'd say that this year was really good in terms of getting into digital art and developing a consistent style, which is kinda what i was going for at the beginning of the year :). Halfway through the year, covid kinda stole all my imagination (it's still hard to visualise things in my head feelsbrainfog) but its ok!!! ill just do studies all the time or smth lmfao!!! fun fact, everything before december was done on my chromebook with krita :,) tbh i think i really slayed without pen pressure the whole time B) umm also i think the improvement is a lot less drastic than previous years which i can either pin down to not drawing as much (for some reason doing finished stuff limited me to 1-2 pieces per month even though i would finish one in like three days) or improvement just not being as obvious because of the digital format. i do have to say that i got a pretty good handle of digital effects + how to manipulate them by the end of this year :D
jan: lilia from twisted wonderland - this is still one of my fav poses that i've ever drawn... still dont know how i did the folds in this one fsjlk
feb: watarei week!! ahhh this was the only ship week i've ever participated in and it was sooo much fun!! it was kinda the first time i got actual interactions that weren't my irl friends on social media sites. i also won the giveaway for wataru merch after the week ended so that was pretty damn awesome!! i also used this as my katakana(?) poster thingy in japanese lmfaoooo
march: mizuki again! love them hearts!! in terms of compositions this is probably one of my favs because its just so different from a lot of the other stuff i did this year :) also yes by this point i'm addicted to harsh front on and backlighting how could you tell?!?!? i think this one also did pretty well on twitter and it got a few notes on tumblr B)
april: omg. elisabethized mafuena with death!mafuyu and elisabeth!ena. ok so this one i made solely for myself and myself only cause its a very specific combination of my interests but as of now it's my best performing post on twitter?? and a ton of fandom artists i look up to liked/rted it soooo flushed emoji!! umm for a more detalied breakdown it's mafuyu as death with with nozomi fuuto's outfit (because the face makeup is hot) and ena has elisabeth's outfit from the same concert ^_^. ik making mafuyu death seems kinda on the nose but i didn't really do it bc of a deep character reason i just think mafuyu has the nonbinary transmasc swag and death has the nonbinary swag so it works out!!! i swear i had a whole reasoning for ena but i cant find it. oh wait the reasoning was of why ena would be a mor!salieri kinnie nvm!! lol!! i think this is one of my favs just bc of the lighting like idk wtf i did to make the overlay layers look Like That but it fucking slays!! and also i actually remembered to do the lighting particles so pien
may: niigo phantom au!! i think mizuki would be a very teehee silly phantom. thats the reasoning for that. i casted kanade as christine and i can't remember why? it might just be because i really liked kanamizu at that point in time bc i do have an entire paragraph about why i could cast kanade as the phantom gfdsjl but ANYWAYS. with this one i wanted to have more fun with the lighting thumbs up emoji. i had a lot of trouble with the overlays on this one solely because of how my final effects proccess works but whatever. mizuki looks so pretty in this one hearts i think its the prettiest mizuki ive drawn so far
jun: pure vanilla cookie from cookie run. i think i just wanted to do more of an environment in this one? yeah. i also had a lot of fun with the aftereffects, i tried doing vintage photoish adjustments to give off that summery feeling :). this month i also got covid right while finishing another pv piece, i remember stumbling to my computer with a terrible headache to try and finish it...ow.
july-september: yeah. i genuinely drew next to nothing here. ik i say it a lot but getting long covid kinda robbed me of all my creative drive :( clearly i was getting too powerful and needed to be nerfed. oct: this is one of my ocs, valentine!!! i might make a journal page for all my oc stuff sometime :O!! in october i had this random spark where i made ref sheets for three new ocs but the problem is i don't really have a concept for them besides weird creature found family living in early 20th century france so like. lmao. dec: that is gerard way. ummmmmmmm. (study of the white girls starbucks photo) anyways my art master plan is to draw ten billion gerard photos while i am still sickish and then when i get better and actually have an imagination i will be so fucking good at art or something like that. clearly the best plan ever. so yeah out of the blue mcr + certain related bands kinda hit me over the head while i wasn't looking and now i am in a very deep rabbit hole. crazy crazy.
